How Live Personalised Art works

People bin flyers. They keep art.

Sketches, paintings, poems, keepsakes

What it is

A live art activation that leaves people with something to take home, hang on the wall and remember your space by. Artists roam with pencils and paints, a typewriter for on-the-spot poems, and a receipt printer that turns someone's journey into a printed keepsake.

Who it's for

Young visual artists and poets who want paid work doing what they do best. And town centres, councils and business associations who want people to linger, dwell, feel welcome and leave with a good memory of the place.

How it works

We choose artists to suit the space and the crowd, and tailor the work to the space, the theme or the event. The art can be of the person, the place, or a moment someone shares. Each piece is signed, and the back can carry the name of the space, local board or business association behind the day.

Where it leads

Live Personalised Art runs alongside Rangatahi on Stage, so visual artists and poets join the same roster, get paid the same way, and are put forward for bigger briefs.

“Your poems today really moved me. I read them again in the car and to my husband when I got home.”

From the artist's side

“I wrote a poem for a lovely lady and she came back later to thank me for it and tell me that it inspired her to actually go for her dream of travelling.”
